When I have time to kill, I go out shooting
On the odd occasion, I shoot myself
James Ratchford founded Shoot the Magic in May 2014 in Edinburgh Scotland.
“Since launching Shoot the Magic I have had an incredible response for my photography.
My images have been featured in advertisements and brochures, printed for postcards, blown up to cover shop walls, featured as front page images on newspapers and used on various renowned websites. I have also won an award for the best wildlife photographer in the Botanical Gardens of Edinburgh.
My most impressive and enjoyable commission to-date was working for the Edinburgh Fringe Society as the official Fringe Photographer. This involved creating a catalogue of photographs, highlighting the essence of the festival.
Other companies I have worked for include Brighton Festival Fringe, Food and Drink Guide, Nyetimber, Best in England, Earthy Foods, Brewstore, QMUE, IMG visual and many independent models, restaurants and the occasional wedding.
I am now based in Lewes near Brighton and am excited how my work is progressing and the audience my photography is starting to receive.
