Birling Gap and Beachy Head cliff walk

The Beachy Head Highland cliff walk takes in the iconic Beachy Head Lighthouse, Birling Gap Beach and Seven Sisters Cliffs.

These two walks offer a varied environment, perfect for landscape photography with impressive sites such as Beachy Head Lighthouse and Belle Tout. They also take in the beautiful beach at Birling Gap, where fossils can be found and large stretches of sand are accessible at low tide. Below are a few example shots of what you will see on your walk.

  • Three-hour walk / 2-3 miles

Cuckmere Haven and Seaford Head walk

The spectacular walk to Cuckmere Haven features the famous Fishermans Cottages and epic views of the Seven Sisters Cliffs.

This is easily one of the most photogenic stretches of coast in England: with dramatic sea views, plenty of wildlife and big skies. You can also find fossils on the beach at low tide. Below are a few example shots of what you will see on your walk.

  • Six-hour circular walk / 6 miles

    Moderate difficulty (some steep terrain)

    Highlights include the iconic views out to the Seven Sisters Cliffs, Seaford and wildlife along the Cuckmere River

    Refreshments available at Cuckmere Inn and Coffee station at South Hill Barn

Cuckmere River with Seven Sisters cliffs option

These circular walks follow the meandering Cuckmere River with the option to walk over the splendid Seven Sisters Cliffs, returning via Friston forest.

It’s difficult not to be impressed by the beautiful oxbow river that snakes to the sea and is a haven for wildlife. A short uphill climb at the mouth of the river offers exceptional 360 views over the beach and out to Birling Gap. For those wanting more; the walk over the Seven Sisters Cliffs is one of the most memorable cliff walks you can have, topped off with a beautiful woodlands to finish.
